Dear stakeholders, staff members and investors
One year ago, RH Bophelo became the first black-owned and managed healthcare company, and the 8th Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) to list on the JSE since the introduction of SPACs in 2013.
On the surface, the journey to achieving such a milestone may have seemed like one littered with roses and showered with the sunshine. However, indexing on that JSE main board was a monumental task that incurred more than just guts and funds. The listing was preceded by a collaborative effort and an enduring will to lead the way and forge into uncharted territories seemingly reserved for the fortunate few.
Today, RH Bophelo is rewriting the script as a black-led investment company. We continue to reshape the healthcare industry by offering affordable quality healthcare for the greater good of our communities, investors, and ultimately, our economy.
We exceeded all projections by transacting, within months, with two acquisitions: Vryburg Private Hospital (VPH) and Africa Healthcare (AHC) Proprietary Limited on 20 November 2017. On 14 May 2018, we entered into an agreement for the acquisition of 30% of the equity in Rondebosch Medical Centre (RMC) Proprietary Limited.
We invite all our stakeholders and clients to take a moment and celebrate the first of many anniversaries of the listing of RH Bophelo — an African success story that is rapidly unfolding.
